Faith living

Earlier in Genesis chapter 25 Rebekah asks God “why is this happening to me” as she felt a struggle in the womb between her unborn twins Esau and Jacob. And the Lord told her, in Genesis 25:23 “The sons in your womb will become two nations. From the very beginning, the two nations will be rivals. One nation will be stronger than the other; and your older son will serve your younger son.” Culturally the oldest son got the privilege of the blessing, being like the paternal second father, and we can still see the importance of an eldest male child still in Far East culture to this day. So this revelation from God would have been controversial to a culture that placed such value of the first born and the birth right.

God revealed His plan to Rebekah, but she waits many years until one day she hears Isaac say to Esau in chapter 27, Prepare my favorite dish, and bring it here for me to eat. Then I will pronounce the blessing that belongs to you, my firstborn son, before I die.” Rebekah's response was to scheme a plan to deceive Isaac and make him think Jacob was Esau in order to get the blessing bestowed upon Jacob. She knew what God’s plan was, so why would there have to be any deception? God told her what would transpire and that Jacob would be a strong nation.

“Faith is living without scheming!” As we grow in God’s grace, we don’t have to scheme or plan and try to manipulate circumstances to achieve anything. God’s plan will unfold and transpire regardless of our action or inaction. Let’s say Isaac did bless Esau; do you think the plans of God would have failed, no way!!! As you see things develop in your life let God develop them and let the plan unfold. Take your direction from the Holy Spirit. It says in Psalm 37:23 “The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord, And He delights in his way”. Live in faith believer, let God order your steps, be faithful with your calling, be diligent with the work, be guided by the Holy Spirit and let God’s glorious plan unfold in your life.
Blessings.
